BMW 7 Series Facelift Launching on September 11

New 7-Series and i7 bookings open Both get design and interior changes

BMW will launch the updated 7 Series and i7 in the Indian market on September 11, 2026. Interested customers can prebook the new models at authorised BMW dealerships or at BMW India website. The new models will receive exterior and interior updates along with powertrain upgrades.

The 2026 BMW 7-Series comes with a redesigned front fascia, featuring a massive illuminated grille and split headlamp setup, revised bumpers and slimmer LED taillights. It gets newly designed alloy wheels, and ‘7’ is embossed on the B-pillar. The tail-lamps gets chrome detailing inside and smoked glass, while the revised rear bumper has a diffuser-style insert.

Inside the cabin, the new BMW 7 Series gets a new 4-spoke steering wheel with a full-width panoramic display. It is packed with a massive 31.2-inch Theatre Screen in the rear, which now supports 8K streaming. The updated model gets a 17.9-inch central touchscreen and a 14.6-inch display for co-occupant. The traditional driver’s instrument panel is replaced by a full-width projection at the base of the windscreen.

The new 7-Series gets a Bowers & Wikings Surround Sound System with 18-speakers, and a full-width ambient light strip across the dashboard. The seats come with electric adjustment, ventilation and heating, and massage functions along with lumbar support and heated armrests.

Specifications

The new 7-Series continues to be offered with 3-litre inline-six mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engines. These engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to wheels via BMW’s all-wheel drive system. The 740i petrol engine delivers 400 hp and 580 Nm, which is 19 hp and 60 Nm higher than the previous model. Similarly, the 740d diesel produces 313hp and 670 Nm that’s 27 hp and 20 Nm higher than the outgoing model.

The all-electric BMW i7 is packed with a 112.5 kWh battery with a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup. The 50 xDrive and 60 xDrive variants offer a certified range of 728 km and 727 km, respectively. The top-spec M70 xDrive offers a power output of 671 bhp, and has a certified range of up to 686 km.
