2026 BMW 7-Series and I7 Facelifts Bookings Open

BMW 7 Series range gets new design elements, The sedans get an all-new dashboard layout with bigger screens. The new 7-Series and i7 facelift are packed with more powerful engines.

BMW has started taking pre-bookings for the updated 7 Series and i7 in the Indian market. Both models are already on sale in select International markets. Interested customers can book the new models at authorised BMW dealerships or at BMW India website. The updated flagship luxury sedans come with exterior and interior updates along with powertrain upgrades.

2026 BMW 7 Series Design Changes

The 2026 BMW 7-Series comes with a cleaner-front design, featuring a new illuminated kidney grille, and an updated headlights with a split arrangement. The slimmer upper section houses the DRLs, while the main unit is placed lower near the air curtains. The sedan retains flush-fitting door handles. It gets newly designed alloy wheels, and ‘7’ is embossed on the B-pillar. At the back, the new 7 Series gets slimmer tail-lamps which are further extended into the tailgate. The lamps also gets chrome detailing inside and smoked glass, while the revised rear bumper has a diffuser-style insert.

New 7 Series Interior Features

The 2026 BMW 7 Series comes with an all-new dashboard layout, featuring a 17.9-inch central touchscreen and a 14.6-inch display for co-occupant. The traditional driver’s instrument panel is replaced by a full-width projection at the base of the windscreen. The infotainment unit runs on the latest BMW Operating System X, and supports OTA updates, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The sedan Alsop gets newly styled four-spoke steering wheel.

The new 7-Series gets a Bowers & Wikings Surround Sound System with 18-speakers, a full-width ambient light strip across the dashboard, illuminated rear speaker grilles, and additional reading lamps for the rear occupants. The seats come with electric adjustment, ventilation and heating, and massage functions along with lumbar support and heated armrests. The front passenger seat can slide forward to create more space for the rear passenger.

At the back, the sedan gets a new 31.3-inch 8K touchscreen that supports video calls, streaming and gaming. The displays on the rear doors have also been upgraded, which allows occupants to reposition the theatre screen. It also gets new automatic doors with improved positioning for the open and close buttons.

Specifications

The 2026 BMW 7-Series continues to be offered with 3-litre inline-six mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engines, paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to wheels via BMW’s all-wheel drive system. The 740i petrol engine delivers 400 hp and 580 Nm, which is 19 hp and 60 Nm higher than the previous model. Similarly, the 740d diesel produces 313hp and 670 Nm that’s 27 hp and 20 Nm higher than the outgoing model.

The all-electric BMW i7 base 50 eDrive trim has been replaced by the 50 xDrive, which now has all-wheel drive setup. It is packed with a larger 112.4 kWh battery, and a dual-motor setup offering 455 hp and 660 Nm. The range topping i7 M70 xDrive gets the larger battery as well, and offers 680 hp and 1100 Nm.
