BMW is working on the facelift versions of the 7 Series and i7 models that have been in the market since 2022. The luxury sedan is in its seventh generation with a pure electric avatar as well since its launch three years back. It is expected that the automaker will debut the facelift version by late 2025 with some major feature and design updates.
Let's have a closer look at what updates are expected from the upcoming luxury sedan facelift.
It is expected that BMW will make some major design changes for the 7 Series and i7 Facelift. As these are going to be facelifted and not next-gen models, both of the cars are likely to get updates on kidney grille design.
Along with that the front and back bumpers and alloy wheels could get a refresh inspired by the G60 G series. Also, the headlamps and taillights of the models are expected to get a revamped appearance.
As for the interior features of both the car is likely to get some major updates. These changes could feature a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with improved software, and the update of upholstery in the car.
For the layout, it is likely that the cabin would stay the same as the current model in the market.
The engine options are yet unknown for the facelift version of the 7 Series and i7. The current models are offered with three engine options petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid which could get some minor changes or remain the same.
The petrol variant is 740i, a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine, producing 378 bhp while the diesel variant is 740d delivering 286 bhp. The plug-in hybrid variant options include a 750e xDrive with a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine and an electric motor with 485 bhp and M760e.
