Kia Could Launch a New C-Segment SUV Between Seltos and Sorento

Kia considering a new 7-seater SUV to rival Alcazar and Safari It is expected to arrive by 2028-29

We informed you earlier that Kia will launch a new B-segment SUV, which will be positioned between the Sysros and the Seltos in the Indian market. The media report also claims that the company is also preparing a new C-segment SUV, which will be a new 7-seater model. This SUV will be positioned between the Seltos and the soon-to-be launched Sorento SUV. The new Kia Sorento is scheduled to be launched on September 4, 2026.

Kia C-segment Model - Key Details

The new Kia Sorento will be the brand’s first hybrid model in our market. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 30 lakh to Rs 35 lakh, ex-showroom. There will be a sizeable gap between the Seltos and Sorento. This void is likely to be filled by a new C-segment model positioned against the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and other three-row SUVs.

The new C-segment SUV is expected to come with a diverse range of powertrain options, including electrified ones. The report claims that the B-segment model is confirmed, but Kia is still studying the feasibility of the C-segment model and is yet to make a final call on it.

Kia has confirmed to expand its local portfolio to 10 models by 2030. These two upcoming B-segment and C-segment models are likely to be the crucial products in the lineup. The report claims that the company is also considering setting up a separate assembly line at its manufacturing unit to address the production of these upcoming models.

Upcoming Kia Cars

Kia will soon launch the Sorento 7-seater SUV in the country on September 4, 2026. The company will also introduce the hybrid version of the Carnival MPV. This model is expected to be launched by the end of this year. Kia has also started testing the new-gen Sonet compact SUV, which is expected to be launched in our market sometime in early 2027. A possible debut at the 2027 Bharat Mobility Global Expo can’t be ignored.
