Kia India has officially announced that its new 7-seater premium MPV will be called the “Kia Clavis”. Based on the Kia Carens, the new 3-row MPV will be launched in the Indian market on May 8, 2025. The company has also released new teasers revealing design of the Clavis MPV.

The new model has already been caught testing numerous times on the Indian roads. Going by the teaser, it is clearly visible that the Kia Clavis will have a completely redesigned front fascia and looks different than the Carens. It features new LED daytime running lights, which we have already seen on latest Kia Syros SUV.
The MPV gets newly styled LED headlamp setup that houses a unique three-pod arrangement. While the teaser has not revealed much details about the styling, it is expected that the new Clavis will have newly developed front and rear bumpers and new set of alloy wheels.
The MPV was recently caught during official TVC shoot in Himachal Pradesh. The sole image reveals the rear profile, which now has new bumper that houses a large silver insert, new LED tail-lights connected by LED light bar, and revised tailgate. The reverse parking light is no moved to the lower bumper.
The Kia Clavis cabin is expected to receive major changes in terms of features and dashboard layout. Teaser reveals that the MPV will have a new digital driver’s display with icons suggesting availability of ADAS suite. It is expected to get a revised dashboard layout with similarities with the new Kia Syros. The MPV could receive a 30-inch display incorporating a 12.3-inch touchscreen unit, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and a 5-inch display for climate control. The MPV is also likely to receive a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree surround view camera and LEVEL 2 ADAS suite.
The new Kia Clavis won’t replace the Carens MPV in India. In fact, the Carens will continue to be sold alongside the new Clavis MPV. The new model will be a more premium model and will sit above the Carens in Kia India’s line-up. The MPV is also likely to get front and second-row ventilated seats, second-row seats with slide and recline function, and front, side and rear parking sensors.
The Kia Clavis will share the engine options with the Carens MPV. The Korean brand could offer the MPV with a 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engine. Kia could also add the 1.5L NA petrol engine to keep its cost down. All engines will be offered with manual and automatic gearbox options.
