Lotus Cars, Britain renowned sportscar manufacturer makes its grand debut in India with the launch of its first electric SUV, the Eletre. The company will be serving India through its sole distributor, Exclusive Motors, Delhi. The Eletre is offered in 3 variants ranging from Rs 2.55 Crore to Rs 2.99 Crore (ex-showroom).
Founded in 1948, the company is celebrating its 75th anniversary and comes backed by decades of racing heritage. After the death of founder Colin Chapman and a lot of financial instability, Chinese Multinational, Geely brought a majority share of the company in 2017. Post this acquisition the company has changed its complete product strategy and is expanding into newer markets with its CBU offerings.
The new Lotus Eletre represents a dimensional shift for the company as part of the Vision 8 strategy. A focused sports electric SUV, the Eletre is aimed at the SUV-crazy markets and features an aerodynamic design that is undistinguishably Lotus. The imposing front end features sleek LED headlamps muscular bumper and active aero grills. Moving to the sides, the car rides on large 22-inch alloy wheels and a strong shoulder line. At the rear, the short overhang with an active spoiler and steeply raked windscreen create a sporty appearance. Other interesting elements include a connected LED brake lamp bar.
On the inside, the new model is offered with both 5-seater and 4-seater options featuring sports seats. The centrepiece of the new cabin is the large 15.1-inch OLED screen Lotus Hyper OS. This system offers a plethora of information along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other key highlights on the inside include 12-way electrically adjustable front seats with a welcome function, 23 speaker KEF audio system, Dolby Atoms surround sound audio and more. Additionally, the brand is also offering Lidar Lidar-based ADAS suite on the SUV that offers functions like adaptive cruise control, Rear Collision warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, parking assist and more.
Lotus is offering the Eletre in three variants in India. All models are built on a bespoke Electric Premium Architecture (EPA) and feature dual 450 kW motors for permanent AWD. Powering the new Eletre is a 112-kWh battery pack producing up to 900 bhp and 985 Nm of peak torque based on the variant selected.

Lotus Eletre: Rs 2.55 Crore (603 bhp/ 710 Nm/ 600 km range)
Lotus Eletre S: Rs 2.75 Crore (603/ 710 Nm/ 600 km range)
Lotus Eletre R: Rs 2.99 Crore (906 bhp/ 985 Nm/ 490 km range)
