Launched on August 15, 2024, Mahindra Thar Roxx took the entire market by storm with its lifestyle SUV styling and tech-loaded interior. The bookings of the 5-door Thar Roxx are scheduled to begin on October 3. The surprising fact is that the Thar Roxx already commands a waiting period of up to 2-3 months even before the official commencement of bookings. In fact, the waiting time could also be increased once the online bookings start after 2 days.
This should be noted that the waiting period may vary depending on the city you live in. For New Delhi and Bengaluru, it boasts a waiting period of about 2 months while for the cities like Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Pune, and Chennai, the waiting period could reach up to 3 months.
The Thar Roxx gets two engine choices; a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel unit. Both engines offer two states of tune. Check out the table given below:

Mahindra Thar Roxx comes loaded with a wide variety of features. It includes a dual 10.25-inch screen setup (for infotainment and digital driver's display), panoramic sunroof, 6-way powered driver's seat, ventilated front seats, and auto AC. On the safety front, the off-roader provides a 360-degree camera, six airbags, an electronic parking brake, and a Level 2 ADAS suite.
The Thar Roxx comes with a starting price of Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base model (MX1) while its top-of-the-line model (4x4 AX7L AT) costs Rs 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Force Gurkha is the direct rival to Mahindra Thar Roxx. However, there are other worthy competitors to the new Thar including Maruti Suzuki Jimny, Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Creta.
