Mahindra XUV700 Facelift Production Next Month, New XUV 7XO Name Likely

Mahindra is preparing to roll out a major update for its flagship 7-seater (XUV700), and the upcoming model is expected to be called the Mahindra XUV 7XO. The company has already trademarked the name, indicating that the refreshed version of the Mahindra XUV700 facelift may follow the same renaming strategy used for the XUV 3XO. With the facelift scheduled for 2026, this move makes the new identity feel even more likely.

XUV700 Facelift Production to Start in December

According to TeamBHP, production of the Mahindra XUV700 facelift will begin in December 2025. This means the current XUV700 will continue only until November 2025. The upcoming facelift is expected to bring a more premium look and new design elements to help the model stay competitive in the fast-growing SUV segment.

Updated Exterior Design

Mahindra XUV700 facelift is expected to feature noticeable changes, including a new front grille, fresh LED headlamps and updated DRLs. The overall styling is likely to look sharper and more modern to match Mahindra’s new design direction. With the new XUV 7XO name, the SUV is expected to deliver a more distinct visual identity.

All-New Triple-Screen Cabin

Inside, Mahindra is preparing a big upgrade. The 2026 model is expected to come with a new dashboard that features a triple-screen setup, similar to what we have already seen in the XEV 9e. A revised interior theme and updated door panels are also expected, along with a more premium audio system. These changes aim to give the Mahindra XUV 7XO a much more upmarket feel.

Engines to Stay the Same

While the design and interior will see major updates, the powertrains are expected to remain unchanged. The XUV 7XO will likely continue with the familiar 2-litre turbo petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines. Both engines are expected to be offered with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, while the diesel automatic should continue with the all-wheel-drive option. Mahindra is not expected to make big changes here, as the current engines already deliver strong performance.

Expected Price and Rivals

The current XUV700 ranges between Rs 13.66 lakh and Rs 23.71 lakh. With the facelift, the Mahindra XUV 7XO price is expected to carry a noticeable premium due to the new features and interior upgrades. The SUV will continue to compete with rivals like the Mahindra Scorpio N, Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus once it launches in 2026.
