Maruti Suzuki is set to unveil its first electric SUV, the e Vitara, at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025. The electric SUV is based on the eVX concept. The first Maruti Suzuki electric vehicle will rival the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and Mahindra BE 05.
The international variant of the e Vitara was launched in Milan, Italy. The Gujarat plant of Maruti Suzuki will produce the vehicle. Half of the production will be exported to Europe and Japan. Even though this is an internationally unveiled model, it will start first in India by March 2025.
The e Vitara endorses the original concept design. This model boasts sharp LED lights, a muscular body, and rugged dark cladding, giving it a rugged look. The SUV has the most conventional look and bold appearance of all EVs. Tri-slash LED daytime running lights, a bulging rear wheel arch, and a rear door handle integrated into the C-pillar speak to unique attention to detail.
Not to forget, the e Vitara will be 4,275mm long and the wheelbase is 2,700mm, therefore promising ample interior space. Its high ground clearance of 180mm ensures a very comfortable ride on Indian roads. The interior carries a dual-screen setup, rotary drive selector, and premium upholstery. This Suzuki vehicle has managed to be designed with a practical style.
Power batteries will come in two flavors for e Vitara
The AWD AllGrip-e variant will be coupled with dual motors producing 184hp and 300Nm torque. It will also come with a Trail mode for enhanced off-road capabilities.
Maruti Suzuki will price the e-Vitara competitively enough. The base model will start at about Rs. 20 lakh while the AWD version will go up to Rs. 30 lakh. It will compete head-on with the Hyundai Creta EV, which also enters in January 2025, Tata Curvv EV and MG ZS EV.
