MG Hector Tomahawk EV to rival Mahindra XEV 9S It will be a 7-seater electric SUV with bench-type second-row seat
JSW MG Motor is all set to launch its all-new 7-seater electric SUV in the Indian market tomorrow. This new SUV is rumoured to be called either the Hector Hawk or the Hector Tomahawk, both names are trademarked in India. The new Hector Tomahawk EV will mark the debut of JSW MG Motor India’s new ADAPT (Advanced Driver Architecture Platform).
MG Hector Tomahawk Design and Dimensions
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV is basically the re-badged version of the international-spec Wuling Starlight 560 or the Indonesian-spec Eksion SUV. It is expected to carry similar dimensions as the Indonesian-spec Eksion SUV, measuring 4745mm in length, 1850mm in width, 1755mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2810mm
The leaked images reveal its design, featuring a blanked-off grille with regular air inlet on the lower bumper, LED headlamps with dual LED DRLs and others. The headlamps are connected by a black trim that has two silver strips and the MG logo sits at the centre. The SUV gets a clean side profile with chrome door handles and a chrome window line that moves upward to meet the rear. It features black plastic cladding for the squared-off wheel arches and door sills. At the back, it is expected to come with wraparound tail-lamps and a dual-tone finish for the bumper.
Key Features
The official teasers confirmed that the Hector Tomahawk will be a 7-seater electric SUV with bench-type seat in the second-row. It is packed with a huge panoramic sunroof, 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and an 8.8-inch digital instrument console. In terms of features, the SUV will get powered tailgate, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, a 360-degree surround view camera, six airbags, an electronic parking brake and LEVEL 2 ADAS.
Hector Tomahawk EV Specs
The electric SUV is expected to feature a single front-axle-mounted electric motor that produces 201hp and 310Nm of torque. It is claimed to achieve an electronically limited top speed of 160kmph. The EV is packed with a 69.2 kWh LFP battery pack, and is claimed to offer a CLTC range of up to 530 km on a single charge.
