Mini Countryman John Cooper Works (JCW) is set to launch tomorrow in India on October 14, 2025. This sporty SUV will be the only ICE-powered version of the Countryman available in India, as the rest of the range is offered in electric form. With pre-bookings already open, here's a simple guide to what we can expect, including the price and key features of the Mini Countryman JCW.

The expected price of the Mini Countryman JCW in India is between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom). The price could vary depending on whether it’s the standard model or a limited-edition version. For reference, a limited-edition electric variant was priced at Rs 62 lakh, so the ICE model may be priced similarly or slightly higher due to its performance and exclusivity.
Mini Countryman JCW will come with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, producing 300 hp and 400Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), sending power to all four wheels. The Countryman JCW can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 5.4 seconds, with a top speed of 250 kmph, making it one of the fastest compact SUVs in its class.
The Countryman JCW will have a bold and sporty look. It features a blacked-out grille with the John Cooper Works monogram, large air intakes, and red accents on the hood and bumper. The sides will have red brake calipers, a red roof, and red side mirrors. At the rear, there will be dual exhausts, a roof-mounted spoiler, and black ‘Countryman’ lettering, giving it a sporty edge over the regular model.
Inside, the Mini Countryman JCW will feature an all-black interior with red accents on the seats, dashboard, and ambient lighting. The car will come with a 9.4-inch OLED infotainment system, a premium Harman Kardon sound system, a head-up display, and a panoramic glass roof. The seats will be electrically adjustable with memory settings for more comfort.
Mini Countryman JCW doesn’t have direct competitors in India, but the Volkswagen Golf GTi could be considered a rival. While the Golf GTi is also performance-focused, the Countryman JCW offers more space, an SUV form, and better off-road capabilities.
Mini Countryman JCW offers a mix of sporty performance, stylish design, and luxury features. For those looking for a compact SUV with exciting performance and a premium feel, this model is worth considering. While the price might be high, its exclusivity, powerful engine, and distinctive design make it a strong contender in the luxury SUV market.
