Ford is looking to make its re-entry into the Indian market. In fact, the company has filed multiple design patents including a compact SUV, Mustang Mach-e and the Everest. Interestingly, Ford has also filed a patent design for an MPV, which reveals its exterior styling.
Based on the leaked images, the MPV seems to carry typical Ford-like design elements with clean lines. Upfront, it features a large grille with the brand's logo in the centre, sleek headlights, and a sculpted bumper. Other visible design highlights include cladding around the roof rails, round wheel arches, shark fin antenna and panoramic sunroof.
The launch of the new MPV is highly unlikely, as Ford is planning to make its entry with CBU and electric models. Adding to it, the company is looking at local development of affordable EVs for India as well as other growing markets including Indonesia. Going by the images, it is visible that the new MPV will measure similar to other compact MPVs like the Toyota Rumion, Maruti Ertiga, XL6 and the Kia Carens.
