Next-gen Hyundai Bayon Interior Spotted: Sportier N-Line Variant
New Hyundai Bayon launch by the end of this year Gets a dual-connected screens
We informed you earlier that Hyundai will launch an all-new B-segment SUV in the Indian market by the end of this year. It is most likely to the new-generation Hyundai Bayon, which will be the brand’s new global SUV. To be positioned between the Venue and the next-generation Creta, the second generation Bayon will bring significant updates in terms of design and interiors, and engine specifications.
The current generation model was designed specifically for the European market. However, the new model is also likely to arrive in our market. The new Hyundai Bayon has been spotted testing once again in Europe, closer to Hyundai’s headquarters. The latest sighting gives us a glimpse of its interiors.
In the new avatar, the Bayon SUV is more digital and connected, featuring a dual-screen system comprised of a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment unit. This suggests that the new Hyundai Bayon’s interior will adopt a similar concept to that of the Kona and the best-selling Tucson. It is also expected to feature a new climate control system and an all-new dashboard layout and centre console.
The new-generation Bayon will grow slightly in size, and is expected to measure around 4.2-4.3 meters in length, resulting in a more spacious cabin and a bigger boot. The next-generation Hyundai Creta will grow in size, and is expected to measure around 4.45-4.5 meters in length, leaving enough space to accommodate a new B-segment SUV.
Bayon N-LIne
If reports are to be believed, the spotted model points towards an N Line derivative. The vehicle gets a differently styled alloy wheels and dual exhaust system, which are usually associated with N Line models. The report claims that the new Hyundai Bayon will get a petrol engine with a 48-volt mild hybrid (MHEV) technology. It is also likely to get a self-charging hybrid variant.
The India-spec model is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that also powers the Creta. This engine produces 115 PS and 143.8 Nm of torque. It will also get a CNG option. The Bayon will be become Hyundai’s first model measuring over 4 metres in length to offer a factory-fitted CNG powertrain. In fact, media reports suggest that the SUV could get an underbody CNG tank.
