The Mumbai-based startup, PMV has unveiled its first electric four-wheeler, the EaS-E at just Rs. 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The PMV EaS-E electric car is a quadricycle that is similar to the Bajaj Qute. The EaS-E micro electric car provides a more compact and cost-effective alternative to conventional EVs such as Tata Tiago EV and the upcoming MG Air EV. In India, the bookings are underway and the pricing for the first 10,000 customers is set at an introductory figure of Rs 4.79 lakh.

The EaS-E electric offers two seats; one for the driver and the other for the passenger. Being 2.9 metres long, the EaS-E is more compact than regular cars– even the Maruti Alto 800 measuring 3.45 metres in length. The two-seater EV is also narrower than the conventional cars and the Bajaj Qute which stands at 1157 mm. However, the EaS-E has a monocoque construction with metal body panels which is similar to most passenger cars.
The EaS-E is well-equipped and is provided with interesting parking features that help the user to move their car in reverse and forward using the smartphone app. This feature is somewhat similar to what we have seen in BMWs. Other features like an infotainment screen with Bluetooth, ORVMs, power windows, an air conditioner among many can be found inside the cabin. Although EaS-E electric is a quadricycle, it still has some safety equipment including a reverse camera, seat belts, and a driver airbag.

It is powered by a 48-volt lithium iron phosphate battery; the battery pack is structural to the body frame of the EV. Although the capacity has not been disclosed, it might have multiple variants with ranges of up to 120 kms, 160 kms, and 200 kms. Using a household 15A power socket, the battery can be charged in a matter of 3-4 hours. The PMV EaS-E is propelled by a front-mounted e-motor good for 13.31 bhp and 50 Nm torque which is much lower than the regular cars. Nevertheless, it is still good to offer a top speed of up to 70 kmph.
Bookings can be made for the PMV EaS-E on the official website for a token amount of Rs 2000. The pricing of the electric car starts at Rs. 4.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Remember, it is an introductory price which is limited to the first 10,000 customers. For more variants, prices are expected to be disclosed soon.
