Tata Motors is all set to introduce the Curvv EV in the Indian market. The upcoming electric coupe SUV is likely to be unveiled on 19th July 2024 while its price announcement will be made next month on August 7. Unofficial bookings are currently open at the token amount of Rs 11,000. Though most of the details about the Curvv EV have surfaced online, the biggest curiosity lies in the pricing and its specifications. Let’s dive in.

Expected Price |

Base Variant |
Rs 18.49 lakh |
|
Top Variant |
Rs 23.50 lakh |
The upcoming Curvv will be the fourth electric offering from the house of Tata, after the Tiago EV, Punch EV, and Nexon EV. Since the electric Curvv will be positioned above the Nexon EV, we can expect it to be priced higher than that.
Talking about the pricing of the existing Tata EVs, the most affordable Tata electric car is the Tiago EV, starting from Rs 7.99 lakh while its top-spec model retails at Rs 11.89 lakh. Switching to the price of Punch EV, it costs between Rs 10.98 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh. Its base model is about 90,000 rupees cheaper than the top-spec model of Tiago EV. Meanwhile, Tata Nexon EV starts from Rs 14.49 lakh, Rs 1 lakh cheaper than the high-end model of Punch EV.
This pricing strategy must have given you an idea of how Tata could price the upcoming Curvv EV. If the top model of Nexon EV is priced at Rs 19.49 lakh, we believe that the Curvv EV base model price could stand at Rs 18.49 lakh, making it Rs 1 lakh cheaper than the top model of Nexon EV. The high-end variant of the electric coupe SUV is likely to be priced at Rs 23.50 lakh.

Tata Curvv will be a unique offering from the brand due to its coupe SUV body styling and variety of tech features. Some of its exterior design elements will include a closed-off front grille, an aggressive front bumper, black cladding, stylish alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles and wraparound LED tail lights.
In addition, the Curvv EV will come loaded with a range of features. Some of these will be borrowed from the Tata Nexon EV comprising dual-zone AC, Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, and ventilated seats. Other features might include a fully digital driver's display, a 12.3-inch infotainment unit, front parking sensors, a panoramic sunroof, and a powered driver seat.
Based on Tata's Acti.ev architecture, the Curvv EV is expected to offer two battery packs, offering an impressive range of over 500 km on a single range. Similar to Nexon EV, the upcoming Curvv EV will also get the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality. More details are yet to come.
The upcoming Tata Curvv will be available with multiple powertrain options. Apart from the electric variant, it will come with petrol and diesel variants as well. Once the electric Curvv is launched in the market by August 2024, the ICE-powered Curvv could arrive later this year.
The Tata Curvv ICE will also mark the debut of the brand's new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 123bhp and 225Nm of torque. Compared to the existing 1.2L engine, the new T-GDI unit offers 5bhp more power and 55Nm higher torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual as standard, a 6-speed AMT with diesel and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with turbo petrol.
While the ICE version is expected to rival Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Honda Elevate, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, the electric Curvv could be a great competitor to Mahindra XUV400, MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX and Hyundai Creta EV.
