Here is the list of upcoming Cars and SUV Launches in August 2022; From Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder to Mahindra’s 5 Born Electric SUVs and the Mercedes AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+.

The month of August is packed with new car launches, just before the Indian auto market can go for a break to prepare for the festive season. In the next 30 days we will see launches from numerous manufactures ranging from ICEs to EV and SUVs to hatchbacks. Let’s have a look at the upcoming cars and SUVs launches in August.

2022 All-New Hyundai Tucson- 10th August

Hyundai’s flagship product in India, the Tucson is set to launch on the 4th August. Adopting the brand’s new “Sensuous Sportiness” design philosophy, the new model is a major step-up from the outgoing model. The interiors of the four-wheeler has gone premium and features a slew of modem tech features like Level 2 ADAS, ambient lighting, and a powered driver seat with memory function among others. The Korean carmaker has brought the LWB version of the SUV to the Indian market, empowering the SUV with the longest wheelbase in the segment along with the most powerful diesel engine.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder- 16th August 2022

The Urban Cruiser Hyryder will mark the debut of Toyota in the mid-size SUV segment. Co-developed with Maruti Suzuki, the Hyryder will feature the segment's first strong hybrid powertrain along with an all-wheel drive set-up. The vehicle gets a slew of modern features like ventilated seats, HUD, 360-degree parking camera, a panoramic sunroof and more. The powertrain options include a 1.5-litre K15C engine mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine returning class leading fuel efficiency. Bookings for the SUV is open at a token amount of Rs 25,000.

2022 New-Gen Maruti Suzuki Alto: 18th August 2022

Based on the new Heartect platform, the new Alto is expected to sport a larger footprint along with a completely new exterior design. The car is expected to get a heavily reworked front and rear sections giving it an altogether big car appeal. Into its 3rd generation, the hatch will most probably offer equipment like a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electrically adjustable ORVMs and power windows for rear passengers. The familiar 796 cc motor will continue to do its duty on the new Alto along with the addition of a new 1.0 litre K Series Dual Jet Dual VVT engine from the S-Presso. Maruti’s AGS transmission will most likely make it to the new Alto paired with the 1.0-litre engine.

Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4 MATIC+ - 24th of August

The first all-electric AMG is coming to India in form of the EQS. Mercedes Benz will introduce the all-electric saloon in its most powerful AMG 53 4 MATIC+ guise. Sold as a CBU, this car is expected to produce 658 bhp and 950 Nm while offering a range of up to  580 kilometres. The addition to this, the four-wheeler is also expected to get the  AMG Dynamic Package, that will let you do a 0-100 kmph sprint in just 3.4 seconds. On the inside it will be loaded with tech like the triple display Hyperscreen infotainment system powered by MBUX, Head-Up Display, 3D Burmester Surround Sound System, heated seats with massage function and more.

Mahindra’s 5 New Born Electric Vision EVs- 15th August

Mahindra recently shared a teaser video showcasing the silhouette of 5 new upcoming EVs. Four of these sport a coupe like styling while the fifth one seems to be the electrified version of XUV700. Designed and developed at Mahindra’s Advanced Design Studio in the UK, these cars are grounds up EVs as suggested by the name ‘Born Electric’. The company is was rumoured to be in talks with which Volkswagen Group to borrow its MEB platform for some SUV models and we expect the German manufacturers platform to underpin some of the new cars. The production-spec version of these SUVs will be ready to hit the markets by 2025 with a global unveil set for 15th of August 2022.
