Porsche is one of the most reputed automakers in the world. Established by Ferdinand Porsche in 1931, the company has been in the market for about 90 years. The German automobile manufacturer is specialised in making luxurious and sporty models.
Porsche India is part of the Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited headquartered in Mumbai.The company has been selling luxury cars in the country since 2004 and expanded its operation to Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Bangalore, Chennai, and Chandigarh in 2013 by setting up Porsche Experience Centres. Currently there are seven models on sale from the German brand in India that includes four SUVs, one Wagon and 2 Coupes.

The Macan is a high-performance compact luxury SUV and popular global model. Internationally the model is offered in 4 different variants; Standard, S, Turbo and GTS. However, for the Indian car market, the SUV is only available in 3 variants with only petrol engine option.
Porsche has updated its 5-seater SUV in recent years and tuned up the engines in the Macan. The standard version gets a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 291 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. The S and GTS models are powered by a larger 2.9-litre V6 turbo petrol unit that is rated for 375 bhp and 434 bhp respectively. The base model is priced at Rs 83 lakh (ex-showroom) while its expensive model, GTS is priced at Rs 1.47 cr (ex-showroom).

Next car on offer is the popular coupe, the 718. The German automaker recently made some extensive changes to the entry-level mid-engined coupe. The 2-seater four-wheeler is available in nine variants named Cayman, Boxster, Cayman Style Edition, Boxster Style Edition, Cayman GTS, Boxster GTS, Spyder, Cayman GT4, and Cayman GT4 RS.
Porsche 718 variants are offered with petrol engines mated with both manual and automatic (DCT) transmission options. The engines are capable of generating a power output between 295 to 494 bhp. Its cheapest variant, Cayman is priced at Rs 1.37 cr (ex-showroom) while its most expensive variant, the Cayman GT4 RS commands a price of Rs 2.54 cr. (ex-showroom).

The Cayenne is the company’s flagship SUV product and one of the most popular luxury SUVs globally. This mid-size luxury crossover SUV is available in seven variants; Base, Platinum Edition, GTS, E-Hybrid, E-Hybrid Platinum Edition, and Turbo.
The new Porsche Cayenne is offered with multiple petrol engine options and a single 8-speed automatic transmission. The base model is priced at Rs 11.27 cr (ex-showroom) while its most expensive variant, Turbo is priced at Rs 1.93 cr (ex-showroom).

Porsche India launched its first-ever electric offering, Taycan in the country in 2021. The model is the epitome of the brand's electric sports vehicle. The 4-seater sports car is available in seven variants; Standard, 4S, 4S Cross Turismo, GTS, Turbo, Turbo Cross Turismo, and Turbo S. It gets two battery packs (79.2 kWh and 93.4 kWh) depending upon the variant. While its Standard version is priced at Rs 1.53 cr (ex-showroom), its top-spec variant commands a price of Rs 2.34 cr (ex-showroom).

The iconic Porsche 911 is another powerful sports car that puts a smile on your face when driving around the city. It is offered with potent engines and outstanding ride and handling. The 911 is available in 9 variants which include Carrera, Carrera T, Carrera Cabriolet, Carrera S, Carrera S Cabriolet, GT3, GT3 Touring Package, Turbo S, and GT3 RS. The cheapest variant Carrera is priced at Rs 1.72 cr (ex-showroom) while its top-spec GT3 RS is priced at Rs 3.25 cr (ex-showroom). The car is high in practicality which makes it extremely desirable to buy.
