Kia India is getting ready to unveil the second-generation Seltos which will be largely overhauled in 2025. Ever since its 2019 launch, the Seltos has always been on the top selling list for sub-compact SUVs in the market. We believe that the SUV will have massive changes, which will take it to a different level when compared to competition.
Some of the recent spy shots in India indicate that the 2025 Kia Seltos is coming with significant design updates. Even though the entire body of the SUV would be pretty much the same as it is currently; the front and rear ends will be dramatically redesigned. The Seltos will have squared LED headlamps, uniquely designed LED DRLs, and a restyled grille at the front end.
New rear lamps inspired by the Kia EV5 will stretch across from the rear windows down to the bumper. That will combine conventional SUV features with modern EV design. Alloy wheels will be new, and so the slight lengthening of the body. But Seltos could provide greater cabin and cargo room.
Inside, the new Seltos will be all-new in terms of design. Spy shots hint that the dual-tone color scheme will come with orange accents. Also new designs for door trims and headrests. Ambient lighting will make it look different. Kia will bring in a newer multi-layered dashboard design with premium materials and a new two-spoke steering wheel.
Under the bonnet, the second-gen Seltos is expected to wear a few powertrain choices. The SUV is reportedly to get the 1.6-litre hybrid, good for producing 141 bhp. Given that the existing 158 bhp of turbo-petrol and the 114 bhp diesel remain there. It will offer various transmission options, including 6-speed manual, CVT, 7-speed dual-clutch, and many others. The hybrid powertrain ensures a greener driving experience but also promises better fuel efficiency.
It will hit the Indian roads sometime in the second half of 2025. The closest rivals to the car will be Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara. All the above factors, the new Seltos will upgrade in terms of design, features, and performance. It will keep its edge over this highly competitive SUV segment.
Under Kia's active focus on innovation and customer preference, the next-generation Seltos will continue to be a competitive player.
