Tata Motors has confirmed its ambitious EV strategy for the Indian market. The company plans to introduce four new electric cars by 2030, with two of them already known — the much-awaited Sierra EV and the futuristic Avinya EV. This announcement is part of Tata’s broader roadmap to launch 30 new vehicles, including 7 all-new nameplates, over the next five years.

The first among Tata’s all-new electric offerings will be the Sierra EV, which is expected to arrive around the festive season this year. The Sierra EV has been one of the most anticipated launches from Tata, having been showcased earlier this year at the 2025 Auto Expo in a near-production form. Designed as a modern interpretation of the iconic Sierra SUV, it will combine retro elements with futuristic EV tech.

Following the Sierra, Tata will debut its new premium electric sub-brand — Avinya — by 2027. The lineup will include two models, the standard Avinya EV and a larger version called the Avinya X. Both models are expected to offer advanced EV architecture, a futuristic design, and premium features. Tata showcased the Avinya X concept at the 2025 Auto Expo, hinting at the brand’s vision for the future of electric mobility.
Tata Motors is planning to expand its portfolio from the current eight nameplates to fifteen by 2030. Out of the seven new models confirmed, four will be EVs, while the remaining three will be internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. Details about the two unnamed EVs remain undisclosed.
