The French automaker, Renault will launch two new SUVs, including the third-generation Duster and a new 7-seater SUV in India. Renault India has confirmed that the third-gen Duster will be launched in the first quarter of 2026. Adding to it, the 7-seater derivative of the SUV will arrive in the mid-2026, probably around July-August.
Renault has revealed its new global 5-seater SUV, called the Boreal, which will first go on sale in Brazil this year. It is expected that Renault will introduce the 7-seater version of the Boreal in the country. Both Duster and Boreal are based on Renault-Nissan Alliance’s CMF-B modular platform.
While the Renault Boreal is 4.56 meters long SUV, the India-spec 7-seater Duster is expected to measure around 4.7 meters in length. The new SUV has a boot space of 586-litres, which can be further expanded to 1,770-litres by folding the rear seats. The SUV has a ground clearance of 213mm.
The 7-seater Renault Duster will come equipped with several comfort and convenience features. It will have a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 10-inch digital driver’s display, Harman/Kardon audio system with 10 speakers, powered tailgate, panoramic sunroof and dual-zone climate control. The SUV will come with advanced driver assistance system, electrically adjustable front seats, and ambient lighting with 48 colour options.
The new Boreal SUV is likely to be powered by a 1.3-litre, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 156bhp and 270Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission).
The SUV is also likely to get a strong hybrid engine. The global-spec Boreal could get a 108bhp petrol engine coupled to a 51bhp motor, a starter generator and a 1.4kWh battery. The combined power output stands at 155bhp. The SUV could also get an AWD set-up.
