New Bayon to debut at the 2026 Paris Motor Show Bookings open in India at Rs 11,000
Hyundai Motor Europe has officially announced its return to the Pairs Motor Show 2026. The big news is that the all-new Hyundai Bayon will make its world debut on Monday, October 12. While the outgoing model is a Europe-specific model, but the new-gen Bayon will go beyond Europe and will also launch in India as well as in Latin America. In fact, Hyundai India has started accepting pre-bookings for the Hyundai SUV at a token amount of Rs 11,000.
India-spec Hyundai Bayon
The India-spec Hyundai Bayon is also likely to be launched in India in October, most probably around the same time. We expect the new Bayon to cost somewhere around Rs 9 lakh to Rs 14 lakh. It will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.
4.2m Long SUV
Hyundai has officially announced that the next-gen Bayon will measure 4.2 meters in length. The next-gen Hyundai Creta is reportedly to measure around 4.5 meters in length, leaving enough space to introduce a new midsize SUV in India. The SUV will fill the void between the sub-4m Venue and the next-gen Creta, which is scheduled to be launched in early 2027.
Design Details
While the current model looks like a jagged-up i20 hatchback, the upcoming Hyundai Bayon comes with a boxier, upright crossover-SUV stance with design inspired from latest Hyundai Tucson. The SUV will come with split headlamp setup with half-split H-shaped LED daytime running lamps positioned at the top. The main headlamp setup is integrated lower on the bumper, which also houses a rugged skid plate.
The SUV comes with a sculpted bonnet design, wrap-around door cladding and Bridge-Type Roof Rails. It comes with a rising window line with a unique kink at the C-pillar, pull-type door handles, functional roof rails, prominently flared wheel arches, pronounced roof spoiler and slim LED tail-lights.
Interior Details
Inside the cabin, the Hyundai Bayon will have similarities with the new-gen i20 hatchback that debuted recently in Brazil. It will come with twin 12.3-inch connected screens for infotainment unit and a digital driver’s display, and physical HVAC controls on the central console. It will have Hyundai’s new steering wheel with four-dot motif, and vertical AC vents.
The SUV will be equipped with panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, connected car tech, AI voice assistant, automatic climate control with rear AC vents and others. It will come with six airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, ESP, traction control, and others.
Engine Specifications
The Hyundai Bayon is likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 114bhp and 144Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic. This same engine is also offered with the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos. The SUV will also get a factory-fitted CNG option, most likely an underbody tank. It will be the first Hyundai above 4 meter to get a CNG option.
