German automaker Audi India has started accepting bookings for the New Q3 Sportback at a token amount of Rs 2 lakh. It is essentially the coupe-style version of the Q3 SUV and the first of its kind in the Indian entry-level luxury SUV segment. We take a closer look at this particular SUV.
Visually, the Q3 Sportback gets a few specific design elements that differentiate it from its sibling. The SUV-coupe features a larger honeycomb pattern hexagonal grille and sharper triangular air intakes up front while in profile you will notice the raked roofline and 18-inch, 10 spoke alloy wheels. As for the rear, it features a compact tailgate that provides a pair of LED tail lights and sculpted bumper.
Moving inside, the cabin layout of the sportback is very similar to the regular Audi Q3. The dashboard features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster. Other equipment on the list include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, a 10 speaker audio setup and more.

In terms of safety, the New Audi Q3 Sportback gets 6-airbags, ISOFIX child mounts, TPMS, and ABS with EBD. Audi India is not going to offer ADAS-Tech in the upcoming SUV-coupe.
Powering the 2023 Audi Q3 Sportback is a 2-litre turbo-petrol motor that is capable of delivering a power output of 190 bhp with 320 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. Audi’s Quattro AWD system helps the SUV to achieve a 0 to 100 kmph sprint in just 7.3 seconds.

Expect the New Audi Q3 Sportback to be priced above the Q3 which retails between Rs 44.89 lakh to Rs 50.39 lakh (ex-showroom). The new SUV is slated to launch by the first quarter of 2023. Currently, there are no direct rivals to the Q3 Sportback in the Indian market. Its nearest competitor, the Mercedes-Benz GLC coupe is positioned in a segment higher.
Seeing the growing demand for hybrid cars, popular mass-market car manufacturers like Kia, Hyundai, Mahindra and Renault are planning to launch hybrid SUVs in India.
