Luxury automaker Bentley Motors has just launched the new Bentayga EWB and EWB Azure in India. Starting at Rs 6 crore (ex-showroom), the new Bentley EWB versions offer more space at the rear to further enhance the luxurious cabin experience.
Compared to the regular model, the Bentayga EWB gets a 180 mm longer wheelbase and changes to the underfloor, side panels, door and the roof. However, the changes to the exterior profile go unnoticed as the company has ensured the lines and proportions look similar and not out of place.
Bentley has also provided the Bentayga EWB with a new front grille consisting of a black mesh design behind chrome vertical slats. The diamond-mesh pattern on the air dam and bumper also gets a chrome finish. Over to the side, you’ll notice the massive rear doors which are noticeably longer than the front ones and new 22-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels.
Move inside and you will be greeted by one of the most premium interiors in the automotive world. The base layout remains largely unchanged and comes covered in rich materials. The car continues to get features like a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a fully digital instrument cluster, auto climate control, ambient lighting, HUD and a premium audio setup. The extended model also sees the panoramic sunroof moved back by 125 mm.
The party piece of the Bentayga EWB is at the rear, with the increased space and the new optional Airline Seats. They possess 22-way electrical adjustment, recline of up to 40 degrees and multiple massaging features. The seats have been developed in tandem with a chiropractor to reads body temperature every 25 milliseconds after which it applies heating and ventilation to keep occupant body at an optimum temperature. Bentley says it is 40% more efficient than setting your own seat temperature.
Powering the Bentayga EWB is a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo petrol motor that makes 542 bhp with 770 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are handled by an 8-speed automatic which sends power to all four wheels. Bentley claims a 0-100 kmph time of just 4.6 seconds and top speed is limited to 290 kmph.
