Bayon launching by October 2026 It is based on Art of Steel Design language
Hyundai Motor India Limited has unveiled the first design sketches of the Hyundai Bayon. Scheduled to be launched by Diwali 2026, around October, the Bayon will be a midsized SUV and will be positioned between the subcompact Venue and the next-gen Creta.
Hyundai Bayon Design and Interior Sketch
The new Hyundai Bayon is based on the brand’s evolving Art of Steel design language, combining architectural forms, sharp character lines and confident proportions to create a sporty, stylish and robust SUV for modern lifestyles. The front sketch previews a bold SUV stance, featuring a sculpted hood, pronounced fenders and a unique H-Edge lighting signature. It houses a striking bumper design, which is likely to house wider air intakes, pronounced trims and fog lamp housing.
Previous spy images reveal, the SUV will have black roof rails, a rising window line, and a panoramic sunroof. The SUV will have squared-off wheel arches, upright rear windscreen, a horizontal LED tail-lights and roof mounted spoiler.
The interior sketch shows Hyundai’s modern layout, featuring a premium dashboard layout. It gets a connected digital display housing a central infotainment unit and digital instrument console. The SUV gets a three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, red accents around the central console and air con vents. It is expected to be packed with a lot of features and equipment, including some artificial intelligence technology, which will play an important role in improving your driving experience.
Some of the key features likely to include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, multi-coloured ambient lighting, electrically-adjustable sunroof, connected car tech and premium audio system. The SUV will also get LEVEL 2 ADAS suite with features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring and others. For safety and security, the next Bayon will have 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), a 360-degree surround view camera, 3-point seat belt, and others.
The Bayon is expected to measure around 4.2-4.3 meters in length, and will have longer wheelbase and wider track than the Hyundai Venue. The next-gen Creta will grow in size and is expected to measure around 4.45-4.5 meters in length; allowing Hyundai enough space to accommodate Bayon in the midsize SUV category.
Engine Options.
The India-spec Hyundai Bayon is likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that also powers the Creta. This engine produces 114bhp and 144Nm of torque. It will be the first Hyundai over 4 meters to feature a factory-fitted CNG option. In fact, the SUV is rumoured to get an underbody CNG tank.
