Mahindra is excited to launch a range of new electric cars in the Indian market. These cars will fall under unique series, i.e., Born Electric (Be.05, Be.07, and BE.09) and XUV (XUV.e8 and XUV.e9). Currently, the XUV400 is the only full electric SUV in the brand portfolio which could not gain good sales numbers. However, with the launch of the new EV range, Mahindra will make a significant impact on the Indian auto market. The BE.05 will be the first one to make an official entry into the market, most probably at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025. It is expected to be on sale by October 2025. Let's get more insights!
The concept form of the BE.05 has already been showcased. In fact, the test mule of the electric SUV has also been spied, hinting at its unique design elements and tech-loaded interior. Dimensionally, it will be 4,370 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,635 m tall with a wheelbase of 2,775 mm.
Visually, it will highlight a muscular body shape with aggressive-looking design elements. Some of the exterior features will include a twin roof spoiler, C-shaped LED DRLs, and C-shaped connected tail lights.
Inside, it will flaunt its all-black theme with silver accents. In terms of features, the BE.05 electric SUV will offer twin-spoke steering wheels, a 10.25-inch dual screen for infotainment and instrument cluster, a push start/stop button, a rotary knob, and a floating-styled centre console.
Based on the INGLO platform, the BE.05 is expected to come equipped with a 60kW battery unit. An electric motor mounted on the rear axle could offer a maximum range of around 400 km.
Both XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 are the electric versions of the popular XUV700 SUV. Mahindra will launch the XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 (XUV700 Coupe) in 2025. For more details, read here.
