Next-Gen Mitsubishi Pajero Gets a Premium Interior

New teaser reveals the Pajero's upgraded cabin. Premium interior and H-shaped LED lights confirmed. Global debut scheduled for autumn 2026.

Mitsubishi has shared another teaser of the next-generation Pajero, giving fans a closer look at what to expect before its global debut later this year. The latest preview was shown during the company's Star Camp event in Japan, where a small group of attendees got an early look at the production-ready SUV. This time, the focus is on the cabin, which appears to be a major step up from the outgoing model.

Cabin Gets a More Premium Feel

Although Mitsubishi has not fully revealed the interior, the latest teaser confirms a much more upmarket cabin. The SUV features a black and beige dual-tone interior with stitched door panels, giving it a premium look and feel. People who attended the preview also described the cabin as spacious, with comfortable seats and better overall quality than previous Pajero models. The teaser also shows grab handles inside the cabin, keeping the practical touches that have always been part of the Pajero's design.

Bold Exterior Design Continues

While most of the SUV remains covered, Mitsubishi has once again highlighted its new lighting design. The teaser briefly shows the front of the Pajero under a cover, revealing only its H-shaped LED daytime running lights. Even with the camouflage, the SUV's upright stance and boxy proportions are clearly visible, suggesting that Mitsubishi has retained the rugged look the Pajero is known for. Earlier teasers had also hinted at the SUV's bold front-end styling, and this latest video adds another piece to the puzzle.

Built on the New Triton Platform

Mitsubishi has already confirmed that the fifth-generation Pajero will be based on the latest Triton pickup truck. It will continue to use a body-on-frame chassis, making it suitable for serious off-road driving. However, Mitsubishi says the Pajero will receive its own suspension setup, chassis tuning and additional refinements to deliver a more comfortable driving experience on the road as well.

Bigger Focus on Technology

The new Pajero is also expected to get a major technology upgrade. Previous previews have confirmed a large touchscreen infotainment system and a new digital Multi Meter display inspired by older Pajero models. Buyers can also expect connected car technology and a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). These additions are expected to make the SUV feel much more modern while keeping its tough and practical nature.

Global Debut Later This Year

The all-new Mitsubishi Pajero is scheduled to make its global debut in autumn 2026. With every teaser, Mitsubishi is revealing a little more about its iconic SUV. The latest preview suggests the new Pajero will offer a more premium cabin, improved technology and a bold new design, while continuing to deliver the rugged capability that has made the nameplate popular around the world.
