Mahindra is set to launch the Mini Scorpio, a compact lifestyle SUV based on the Vision S concept. It is expected to go into production by late 2026 or 2027. This sub-4-meter SUV will sit below the larger Scorpio models, featuring a boxy design, upright stance, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, similar to the Scorpio N. Built on Mahindra's new NU.IQ modular platform, the Baby Scorpio will compete against Kia Sonet and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
The Vision S could become the smallest member of the Mahindra Scorpio family, which already includes the Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic. The “S” in the name suggests it might share the Scorpio badge, but in a more compact form. The production version is expected to be between 4.0 and 4.3 meters long.

The Vision S will be built on Mahindra's NU.IQ modular platform, which supports ICE (Internal Combustion Engine), hybrid, and electric vehicle (EV) powertrains. This platform also allows for both front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) setups, which makes it a versatile option for different driving needs. The platform can support SUVs between 3,990mm and 4,320mm in length, making it perfect for the Vision S.
As with the Scorpio N, the Vision S features a bold, boxy design. It has a squarish front with aggressive black cladding and a unique lighting design. The SUV includes triple vertically stacked LED lights on each side of the twin peaks logo, connecting to the L-shaped headlights. The lower bumper is highlighted by silver body panels and broad cladding that houses a radar for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and parking sensors.
Though some of the concept’s rugged features, like the limb riders and roof-mounted lights, won’t make it to the final model, we can expect the production version to retain much of the bold styling.
The Vision S is designed for off-road adventures, with high ground clearance and thick cladding under the doors. It features 19-inch off-road tires and star-shaped wheels, giving it a tough and capable look. The SUV also has side steps and flush-fitting door handles, which add to its practical design. The rear features a tailgate-mounted spare wheel and inverted L-shaped tail-lights, while the lower bumper has a grey-colored skid plate and pixel-shaped lights.
Inside, the Vision S offers a futuristic cabin with dual 12-inch digital screens, separated by an AC vent. The infotainment system is expected to run on a new operating system for better usability. Mahindra has also kept physical buttons for essential functions like climate control, ensuring ease of use. The three-spoke steering wheel comes with haptic controls, and a glass roof with built-in lighting adds a premium touch to the cabin.
The Vision S will feature a hybrid powertrain, alongside traditional petrol and diesel options. Mahindra is working on a new hybrid system, likely based on a 1.2L turbo petrol engine. Other engine options could include the same 1.2L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel, giving customers more choice when it comes to performance.
