Renault Bridger To Sit Below Duster In India

Renault is preparing a new SUV for the Indian market, and it will be positioned right below the popular Renault Duster. The upcoming model, called the Bridger, will debut as a concept on March 10, 2026. Its India launch has already been confirmed, making it one of the brand’s most important upcoming products.

A New Entry In The Sub 4m SUV Space

The Renault Bridger is expected to enter the sub 4 metre SUV segment. This is the same high demand space where compact and lifestyle SUVs continue to see strong sales.

Positioning the Bridger below the Duster will help Renault target a wider audience. It is likely to attract buyers who want rugged styling and SUV presence in a smaller and more affordable package.

Designed And Built In India

The Bridger has been designed and developed in India. Production will also take place in India, underlining the brand’s growing focus on the local market.

At the same time, Renault plans to sell the SUV globally. It will be marketed as an urban SUV in international markets.

Boxy Styling With Lifestyle Appeal

The teaser shared by Renault reveals a boxy silhouette with traditional SUV proportions. A tailgate mounted spare wheel is clearly visible, giving it a strong lifestyle image.

The SUV is expected to come with a practical five door layout, similar to the India spec Maruti Suzuki Jimny.

Set To Rival Popular Lifestyle SUVs

In production form, the Bridger is likely to compete with models like the Mahindra Thar and the Maruti Suzuki Jimny.

It is expected to be based on a monocoque platform and will comply with the sub 4 metre length rule. Renault may even consider offering 4WD technology to give it an edge in the lifestyle SUV segment.
