Save up to Rs 3,000 on toll charges with the FasTag Annual Pass. Activate the FasTag Annual Pass easily via the Rajmarg Yatra app. Get discounted toll access for one year or 200 trips, whichever comes first.
To make toll charges more affordable for commuters, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has introduced the FasTag Annual Pass. Announced by Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, in June 2025, this pass offers a convenient way to save on toll fees. For just Rs 3,000, the pass provides access to cheaper toll rates for up to one year or 200 trips, whichever comes first.
If you're a frequent highway traveller, here's how you can get started and save big on tolls.
The FasTag Annual Pass is a prepaid plan that gives you discounted toll access for a year or a maximum of 200 trips. Once you hit the 200-trip limit, you'll need to purchase a new pass to keep enjoying the benefits. This pass offers great value, especially for people who frequently travel on national highways.
The process to get your FasTag Annual Pass is simple and can be completed online via the Rajmarg Yatra app. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get started:
Step 1: Download the Rajmarg Yatra App
Start by downloading the Rajmarg Yatra app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. While it’s possible to buy the pass via the NHAI website, the app offers a more seamless experience.
Step 2: Sign In to the App
Once the app is installed, log in using your mobile number or Google ID. You’ll receive an OTP on your registered phone or email to confirm your identity.
Step 3: Choose the Annual Pass Option
On the home screen of the app, you will see an option for ‘Annual Pass’. Tap it to view detailed information and then click on the ‘Activate’ button to proceed.
Step 4: Prepare Your Vehicle Information
Before proceeding, make sure your vehicle details, such as the Vehicle Registration Number (VRN), are ready. Also, ensure that your FasTag account balance is positive, and your vehicle is not blacklisted or flagged.
Step 5: Enter Your Vehicle Details
After you tap the ‘Activate’ button, enter your vehicle's registration number. The app will display your vehicle's information, confirming its eligibility for the Annual Pass. Be sure to check the details carefully since the pass is non-refundable.
Step 6: Confirm Your Identity with OTP
Once your vehicle details are verified, an OTP will be sent to your registered number or email. Enter the OTP to confirm your details and proceed to the next step.
Step 7: Make the Payment
Once verified, you will be asked to read and accept the terms and conditions. Afterwards, you can pay the Rs 3,000 fee via UPI, debit or credit card, or net banking. The FasTag Annual Pass will be activated within hours, and you’ll get an SMS confirming your subscription.
Eligibility: The FasTag Annual Pass is only available for privately registered vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans. Commercial vehicles are not eligible.
Where It Works: The pass is valid only at toll plazas on National Highways (NH) and National Expressways (NE). At toll plazas on state highways or those managed by local bodies, you will need to pay the regular toll charges, as the pass benefits don’t apply.
How Trips Are Counted: The way a trip is counted depends on the type of toll plaza:
- Point-Based Toll Plazas: Every crossing counts as a separate trip. So, if you're making a round trip, it will be counted as two trips.
- Closed Tolling Plazas: A full entry and exit pair is considered one trip, regardless of how many times you cross the toll.
Renewal Process: Once you complete the 200 trips or one year, your FasTag will revert to a regular tag. You will need to pay Rs 3,000 again to renew the Annual Pass for another year or 200 trips.
The FasTag Annual Pass is a convenient and cost-effective way to reduce your toll expenses when travelling on national highways. By following these simple steps to subscribe, you can enjoy toll-free travel for up to one year or 200 trips. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity, activate your FasTag Annual Pass today!
