Tata Motors Nexon EV, once a top contender in the electric vehicle (EV) market, has faced an unexpected challenge. The recently launched Curvv EV, another offering from Tata, is rapidly gaining traction, leading many customers to reconsider their choice of vehicle. Despite the Nexon EV being a popular option, a significant shift towards the Curvv EV is evident, thanks to its appealing equipment list and updated technology.
The Nexon EV, particularly the high-end Empowered + LR variant, has traditionally been a strong performer in the market. This trim boasts a 40.5kWh battery with an impressive claimed range of 465 kilometres. Its ex-showroom price is Rs 19.29 lakh, but after discounts at some dealerships, it can be bought for around Rs 19 lakh (on-road).
In contrast, the Curvv EV Accomplished 55 variant is priced at Rs 19.25 lakh, ex-showroom, and approximately Rs 20.20 lakh, on-road. This model comes with a larger battery compared to the Nexon EV, offering a claimed range of 502 km with a 45kWh battery. Some buyers are also opting for the Curvv EV Accomplished 45 variant, which costs Rs 18.49 lakh ex-showroom and about Rs 19.5 lakh on-road, providing a balance between price and performance.

While the Curvv EV Accomplished trim does not include some features found in the Nexon EV’s top variant—such as a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, cooled front seats and a 360-degree camera—its modern design and spacious interior make it a compelling choice. The Curvv EV offers more cabin and cargo space, which appeals to customers looking for a fresh look and enhanced comfort in their electric SUV.
Among the various options, the Curvv EV Empowered + variant stands out as the most popular. Priced at Rs 21.99 lakh, ex-showroom, this variant includes Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and has generated significant interest. Dealers report an eight-week waiting period for this model, indicating strong demand. Deliveries of the Tata Curvv EV began on August 23, further fueling its rising popularity.
As the automotive landscape evolves, the Tata Curvv EV is quickly becoming the preferred choice for many buyers who previously considered the Nexon EV. Its advanced features, better range and spacious design are driving this shift, marking a new chapter in Tata Motors’ electric vehicle offerings.
