Tata Curvv Series X Launched at Rs 10 lakh Dark Edition now offered with lower variants as well
Tata Motors has launched the Curvv Series X at a starting price of Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). The new series comes with a new variant line-uo, and the lower-spec variants are now equipped with several high-end features. Tata has also introduced Dark Edition across variants, except for the base Smart X and Pure X; however, the engine options remain the same.
Tata Curvv Series X Price Range
The Curvv Series X is available in 6 trim levels - Smart X, Pure X, Pure X+, Creative X+, Accomplished X and Accomplished X+. The SUV’s base Smart X variant is priced at Rs 10 lakh, while the top-spec Accomplished X+ #Dark Diesel DCT is tagged at Rs 19 lakh.
Compared to the previous model, the base Smart X variant is priced 24,000 higher. The company has also reduced the gap between petrol and diesel prices to Rs 1.3 lakh from Rs 1.5 lakh previously. Similarly, the automatic options price has also come down to Rs 1.3 lakh from Rs 1.5 lakh.
Tata Curvv Series X Interior and Features
The Curvv Series X is packed with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic AC, cruise control, a reverse-parking camera, a 10.25-inch digital instrument console, smart key with push-button start, and multiple drive modes.
The Coupe-SUV gets a lighter interior scheme with leatherette upholstery. The leatherette finish is also added to the steering wheel, gear-shift knob and centre-console armrest. It comes with a dedicated air-con vents, armrest and reclining seats for the second-row passengers. Tata stated that the front seat-back is 10mm slimmer, and the rear seat has been moved 20mm rearwards and sits 10mm lower. These changes claim to offer ore space in the second-row.
In terms of features, the Tata Curvv Series X gets a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree 3D surround-view camera with a blind-view monitor, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, front parking assist, six airbags, ESP, hill-hold control, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.
Curvv Series X Design
The Curvv Series X appears largely identical to the previous model, retaining its SUV-coupe design. It features flush-type door handles, an illuminated four-spoke steering wheel, LED lighting system and a rear spoiler. The Series X is fitted with a black grille instead of chrome finish grille in the previous model. The Dark Edition is now offered from lower variants, starting from Pure+. It comes with a blacked-out exterior finish and Obsidian-themed cabin. The SUV Coupe rides on 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, while the higher-spec model gets 18-inchers.
Engine Options
The Tata Curvv Series X is available with three engine options, including a 1.2-litre turbo petrol, a 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The 1.2L turbo petrol engine produces 120hp and 170Nm, while the 1.2L direct-injection turbo petrol engine churns out 125hp and 225Nm of torque. The oil burner is good for 118hp and 260Nm of torque.
The 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel are offered with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT, while the 1.2L direct-injection turbo-petrol is paired with the 7-speed DCA.
