Maruti e Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser EV launching this month New Duster to launch on January 26, 2025 Skoda Kushaq facelift arriving soon
In the first week of January 2026, we have witnessed the launch of the two new Mahindra SUVs, including the XUV 7XO and XUV 3XO EV. In the next 3 weeks, a total of 5 new SUVs will be launched in our market. While the iconic Renault Duster will return in new avatar on January 26, 2026, Maruti and Toyota will launch their electric SUVs.

Scheduled to be launched on January 26, 2026, the new Renault Duster will mark the debut of brand’s new CMF-B modular platform which will also underpin the upcoming Nissan Tekton and 7-seater Duster (Boreal). It will carry a new design language along with a premium interior. The India-spec model looks largely identical to the global-spec model, except for few cosmetic changes.
The new Duster is expected to offer more features and advanced tech. It is likely to get a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch driver’s display, a wireless charging pad, an Arkamys Classic 6-speaker sound system, a panoramic sunroof, LEVEL 2 ADAS and more. The SUV is likely to be offered with two petrol engines - a 1.3L turbo petrol and a 1.0L turbo petrol.

Maruti Suzuki will announce the prices of the new e Vitara before the end of this month. It will be available in 3 variants, namely Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The Maruti e Vitara will come with two battery options, including a 49kWh and 61kWh. The electric SUV is claimed to offer an ARAI certified range of 543km in a single charge. It will be available with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) and assured buyback.
The electric SUV will come with LEVEL 2 ADAS, 7 airbags, hill hold control, all-wheel-disc brakes, ESP, active cornering control, 360-degree surround view camera, front & rear parking sensors, etc.
While Maruti is yet to announce the launch date of the e Vitara, Toyota has officially announced to launch the Urban Cruiser EV in our market on January 19, 2026. It is basically the re-badged Maruti Suzuki e Vitara. The electric SUV will rival the likes of the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric and MG ZS EV. It is expected to be priced somewhere between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 24 lakh.
It is likely to be offered with the same 49kWh and 61kWh battery packs with a front-axle-mounted electric motor. The smaller battery offer a maximum power of 144bhp, while the larger battery delivers power worth 174bhp. It will offer a range of up to 540km on a single charge.

Tata Motors will launch the Punch facelift on January 13, 2026. The company has already revealed the variants lineup and its key features. It will be offered in six trims - Smart, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Accomplished and Accomplished+. The base trim gets LED headlamps, remote keyless entry, City and ECO drive modes, 6 airbags, ESC and TPMS. The top-spec model gets LED fog lamps with cornering function, voice assisted electric sunroof, 7-inch digital instrument console, wireless phone charging, auto dimming IRVM and others.
It will receive a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It is expected to offer 110PS and 140Nm of torque. The existing 1.2L NA will continue to be on offer with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit.
Skoda will launch the new Kushaq facelift before the end of this month, most probably on January 18-19. It will receive subtle design changes and an upgraded cabin along with a longer list of features. The SUV will come with two key features - a panoramic sunroof and LEVEL-2 ADAS tech with features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, auto high beam, lane assist and others. It is also likely to get a 360 degree surround view camera. The SUV will continue to be offered with the 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo and 1.5L turbo petrol.
