Rugged Tata Punch HBX Is Here – Is Launch Around the Corner?

The Punch HBX looks rugged with off-road accessories. It shares 120PS turbo petrol engine the regular Punch.

The Tata Punch HBX, an off-road accessorized version of the micro SUV, recently made its online debut through an official image shared by Tata Motors on its social media handle. The post was accompanied by the caption, “Looks that started conversations. Capability that keeps them going.” While the carmaker hasn’t yet confirmed its launch timeline, the shared picture suggest that the model is still very much on Tata’s roadmap.

Visually, the Punch HBX appears sportier than the regular model. On the exterior, it features armour guard skid plates, armour guard side cladding, air shield rear spoiler and trailcrest R16 black alloy wheels clad in all terrain tyres. Other key accessories include auxiliary lamps integrated into the front bumper, special bonnet graphics, a roof carriers and multiple blacked-out elements.

Similar to the standard Punch, the Tata Punch HBX features the same 1.2L, three-cyclinder turbocharged Revotron petrol engine. This inline engine delivers a claimed power of 120PS and 170Nm of torque. Transmission duties are performed by a 6-speed manual gearbox. The regular Punch lineup is also available with the 1.2L Revotron naturally aspirated petrol and CNG powertrain options.
