Next Gen Toyota Fortuner spotted testing in Thailand. 2026 Toyota Fortuner likely to launch in India by late 2026. New Fortuner 2026 may get bigger screens and ADAS features.
Toyota Fortuner is preparing for a big update. The first spy shots of the Next Gen Toyota Fortuner have surfaced online. The SUV has been spotted testing in Thailand under heavy camouflage. This confirms that the 2026 Toyota Fortuner is now in its development phase.
Since the Fortuner shares its platform with the Hilux, this move was expected. The Toyota Fortuner 2026 is likely to make its global debut sometime in 2026, with India launch details expected soon after.

The Next Gen Toyota Fortuner 2026 is expected to be based on the upgraded IMV ladder-frame platform. This is the same architecture used in the latest Hilux.
Globally, Toyota is moving towards multiple powertrain options. International markets could see petrol, diesel, 48V mild-hybrid and even electrified versions. However, for India, the brand is likely to start with conventional petrol and diesel engines. Hybrid options may be introduced later.

Even though the test vehicle is fully camouflaged, some design details are visible. The Next Gen Toyota Fortuner looks more upright and slightly wider than the current model.
The rear profile appears more squared-off. The tail lamps look revised, and the rear bumper seems redesigned. The SUV also appears more muscular overall.
At the front, the New Fortuner 2026 is expected to get slimmer headlamps and a larger grille inspired by Toyota’s latest global design language. The overall shape will remain bold and boxy, keeping its rugged SUV identity intact.
The Next Gen Fortuner could receive one of the biggest cabin upgrades in its history. A 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system are expected.
Toyota may also add an updated Safety Sense suite with ADAS features. Electric power steering and over-the-air updates could also be part of the package.
The current Fortuner is popular but often criticised for missing modern tech. The Toyota Fortuner 2026 aims to fix that with better connectivity and more premium materials inside.
Globally, Toyota offers a wide range of engines including diesel, petrol, mild-hybrid and even electric options.
For India, the 2026 Toyota Fortuner is expected to continue with the 2.8-litre diesel engine with manual and automatic gearbox options. The 2.7-litre petrol engine with automatic transmission is also likely to be offered.
Electrified versions such as the 48V mild-hybrid could be considered later depending on market demand.
With testing already underway, the Next Gen Toyota Fortuner is expected to debut globally by mid-2026. The India launch could take place by late 2026.
Given Fortuner’s strong position in the full-size SUV segment, the New Fortuner 2026 is one of the most-awaited launches in the country. More details are expected in the coming months.
