Honda City and Elevate facelift launch by Diwali 2026 0 Alpha electric SUV arriving in early 2027
Honda Cars India is going through a tough phase in the country. In order to revive sales, the company plans to launch 10 new cars, including 7 SUVs in the country by 2030. The next big Honda launch will be an all-new electric SUV based on the 0 Alpha concept that debuted in 2025. Adding to it, the company will give mid-life update to its existing models, including City and Elevate. These three models are likely to be launched by the end of this financial year.
Honda will give another update to its hugely popular City sedan before the arrival of the sixth generation model in 2028. The updated City is expected to be launched during the festive season before Diwali. It is likely to get a revised front grille, new bumpers, re-worked headlamps and tail-lamps, and new set of alloy wheels.
The cabin is likely to receive minimal changes in the form of new trim pieces and upholstery. We expect the sedan could get a larger touchscreen infotainment unit along with an optional 360-degree surround view camera. The Honda City facelift will continue to be offered with a 1.5L, 4-cylinder, NA petrol engine paired to either a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic unit. This engine is capable of producing 121hp and 145Nm of torque. The City e:HEV hybrid will continue to be on sale, featuring a 1.5L Atkinson cycle engine that offers a combined power output of 126hp.

Honda is expected to introduce the Elevate facelift by June 2026. It will come with minor cosmetic design and interior changes along with a longer list of features. With upgraded cabin and design, Honda hopes to keep the Elevate relevant against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Tata Sierra.
The SUV is likely to get new bumpers, new set of alloy wheels, and a slightly revised front grille. Honda could add new comfort and convenience features along with new upholstery. The Honda Elevate facelift will continue to be offered with a tried & tested 1.5L, naturally-aspirated petrol engine paired to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic unit. Few reports suggest that the SUV could also receive a strong hybrid powertrain; however, Honda is yet to make an official announcement on the same.

Honda has officially started testing its upcoming mid-size electric SUV based on the 0 Alpha concept in India. The electric SUV will be manufactured at the brand’s Tapukara production plant in Rajasthan. The test vehicle looks largely identical to the 0 Alpha concept. It will offer strong road presence, featuring an upright stance, flat tailgate and boxy shape.
It will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Mahindra BE 6 and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV. The new model will be the most advanced and feature-loaded Honda car in the Indian market. It will come with modern tech, featuring the brand’s new infotainment unit, digital driver’s display and connected car tech.
