Tata Sierra EV launch by June 2026 Safari EV launch by end of this fiscal Both will come with dual-motor AWD setup
Tata Motors is currently the country’s largest passenger electric car manufacturer, but its market share dropped from 53% to 39% in last financial year. The company is facing a tough competition from the likes of the JSW MG Motor and Mahindra. In order to boost EV sales, the homegrown EV maker will introduce two all-new electric SUVs in the country before the end of this financial year.
The new Tata Sierra will finally receive an electric derivative in the next couple of months. On the other hand, the Safari EV will be introduced before the end of this fiscal year. Both SUVs have been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads.

The new 3-row electric SUV will be the brand’s new flagship model. It will share the platform, battery pack and electronic architecture with the Tata Harrier EV. The acti.ev+ architecture will allow the three-row SUV to offer a more versatile middle-row configuration. Both 6 and 7-seater versions are likely to be on offer.
Performance & Range: The Safari EV is expected to be offered with 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs. The company is targeting a real world range of over 450km on a single charge.
Similar to the Harrier EV, the Tata Safari EV 75kWh model will get a dual-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) setup. This model is expected to offer 0-100kmph acceleration in around 8 seconds, along with multiple electronic terrain modes for light off-roading.
The electric SUV will act as a mobile power bank with V2L and V2V charging.

Tata Motors will introduce the electric Sierra to take on the likes of the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric and others in the midsize electric category. It will be positioned between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV. The electric SUV will be based on the Acti.ev modular platform.
Performance & Range: it is likely to be offered with two battery choices, including a 55kWh and a 65kWh. The electric SUV is expected to offer a realistic range of around 450-500km on a single charge.
It will be a front-wheel drive electric SUV; however, the Sierra EV with 65kWh battery will get a dual-motor AWD setup. The SUV with high ground clearance and multiple terrain modes along with AWD setup will give light off-roading capabilities.
