It is no secret that Honda is gearing up for the launch of the 3rd generation Amaze compact sedan that has been caught testing numerous times on the Indian roads. Now, the company has officially released the first teaser image of the all new Honda Amaze. It was speculated to be launched during the festive season; however, the launch has been pushed towards the end of this year.
Interestingly, the new Amaze's direct rival Maruti Dzire will also enter the new generation on November 11, 2024. It is expected that the new-gen Honda Amaze will be introduced this month. The latest teaser reveals the front fascia, which suggests that it will have an all-new styling inspired from the global Honda sedans.
The teaser shows the front design of the new Amaze, which is inspired from the global-spec Accord sedan. It features an all-new mesh-type front grille, newly styled headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, and aggressive lower bumper that houses new air-dam and new fog lamp housing. There is a thin chrome bar that runs above the blacked-out grille and merges nicely with the LED daytime running lamps.
The previous spy images reveal that the new Amaze will retain the overall silhouette. Its design will be inspired from the Honda sedans on sale in global markets. The rear spy images reveal that the sedan will have new LED tail=-lights with smoked treatment, a reverse camera, a shark fin antenna and 3 fixed headrests for the rear occupants.
The big update is that the third generation Amaze is designed and developed on the City's platform that also underpins the Elevate mid-sized SUV. The platform has been modified to accommodate a sub-4 meter sedan that rides on a shorter wheelbase compared to the City and Elevate. The current model has a wheelbase of around 2470mm, while the City has a wheelbase of 2600mm.
The new Amaze will be powered by the existing 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that also powers the current model. This engine produces 90bhp of power and 110Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
The cabin details of the new Amaze are yet to be revealed. We expect the sedan to share the layout with the new Elevate, featuring layered dashboard dominated by a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. The all new Honda Amaze is likely to receive wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrument console, a single-pane sunroof, and fabric upholstery. The sedan could receive a 360-degree surround view camera and advanced driver assistance system or ADAS.
