BMW Cars has just launched the new X6 50 Jahre M Edition in India, priced at Rs 1.11 crore. Part of the 10 special edition models planned to celebrate 50 years BMW ‘M’, the X6 is the 8th model in the line-up following the launch of the M340i, 630i M Sport, 530i M Sport, M4 Competition, X7 40i M Sport, X4 M Sport, M8 Competition and the M5 Competition. The new model gets subtle cosmetic updates to differentiate it from the regular models
The X6 50 Jahre M Edition will be offered in two new colour options – Black Sapphire Metallic and M Carbon Black Metallic. Other changes on the 50 Jahre M Edition include illuminated gloss black kidney grille, 20-inch alloy wheels finished in Orbit Grey, gloss red M Sport brake callipers and an M Sport exhaust system.
Similarly, to the previous 50th-anniversary models, the X6 50 Jahre M Edition also gets the heritage M badges at the front, rear, and on the hub caps that are inspired by early BMW Motorsport race cars. The BMW logo also gets a unique design that sees it getting semicircles in blue, violet, and red colours.
BMW is additionally offering two optional exterior packages on the special edition SUV. The Racer’s package adds black side decals and a rear spoiler while the Motorsports package gets wing mirrors finished in carbon fibre and a key fob finished in Alcantara.
Compared to the exterior, the interior of the X6 50 Jahre M Edition remains quite similar to the standard car. The dual 12.3-inch displays for the instrument console and infotainment system remain the most eye-catching part of the dashboard, while the Harman Kardon audio setup provides a rich sound experience. Other features include powered leather sports seats with contrast red stitching, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, ambient lighting, wireless charging, heating and cooling cup holders, and an automatic tailgate.
The BMW X6 50 Jahre M Edition retains the 3-litre in-line six-cylinder turbo-petrol motor from the standard xDrive 40i. The engine now pumps out 340 bhp and 450 Nm, mated to an 8-speed Steptronic transmission.
