After witnessing the launch of the Tata Curvv EV, the Indian car market is going to witness another Coupe SUV, the Citroen Basalt. While Tata has already announced the price of electric Curvv yesterday at Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the ICE-powered Curvv price will be revealed on September 2. Before that, Citroen will announce the price of Basalt tomorrow. Many of us are expecting it to be priced between Rs 10-20 lakh (ex-showroom).
Citroen has already revealed the production-spec Basalt, showcasing its distinctive exterior design elements. Some of these design features include a two-part front grille, projector headlamps, faux skid plate on the lower bumper, 16-inch diamond alloy wheels, matte plastic body cladding, halogen tail lamps, dual tone bumper with Black and Silver finish, and contoured tailgate.
Inside, it gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7.0-inch fully digital instrument display, connected car technology, and more. Beneath the hood, it houses two powertrain choices including a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. Know more about the mileage and dimensions of the Basalt.
The Curvv has impressed the industry with its unique design and top-notch functionality. Design-wise, it features LED DRLs, split headlamps, LED light bars (front and rear), LED headlights, dual-tone stylish alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles, and a coupe-like roof.
In terms of features, it provides a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment, fully digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, electric parking brake with auto hold function, wireless charger, and a lot more.
It takes power from the three engines which include 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol, 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo petrol, and 1.5-litre Kryotec diesel unit. Transmission jobs are handled by a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic option.
