New SUVs, EVs, Hybrids and Sedans Coming This Month

Honda Elevate facelift and Renault Duster Hybrid are expected soon. Volvo EX90 and ES90 could expand India's EV lineup. Maybach S-Class and Skoda Slavia facelifts are also coming.

Several automakers are preparing to introduce new vehicles and updated models in India, covering everything from family SUVs and hybrid cars to luxury electric vehicles and premium sedans. The upcoming launches include refreshed versions of popular models as well as new entries in the electric and hybrid segments.

Honda, Renault, Volvo, Skoda, Audi and other brands are expected to bring updates to their lineups. Here is what to expect from the upcoming SUVs, EVs and sedans.

Upcoming SUVs

The SUV segment is expected to see a mix of facelifts, new models and hybrid technology. The Honda Elevate facelift is expected to launch on October 6 with minor exterior changes. These could include a revised grille, updated lighting and new alloy wheels. The cabin may also receive features such as ventilated front seats, a powered driver’s seat, ambient lighting and a 360-degree camera. The existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 119hp and 145Nm, is expected to continue with manual and CVT gearbox options.

Renault is also preparing to expand the Duster range with a hybrid powertrain, expected to launch on October 17. The setup could combine a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with two electric motors and a 1.4kWh battery. The expected combined output is 160hp and 172Nm, with an 8-speed multi-mode automatic transmission. The hybrid system could also allow the SUV to drive on electric power in certain conditions, making it suitable for city traffic.

Hyundai's Bayon is expected to be revealed in Europe on October 12, but its India launch timeline remains unconfirmed. If launched here, it could feature a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing around 115hp and 144Nm, with manual and IVT options. The Toyota Glanza facelift is another model expected this month. It could receive styling and feature updates while retaining its 1.2-litre petrol engine, which produces 82.9hp and 112.4Nm. Manual and AMT transmissions are likely to continue, along with a possible CNG option.

Upcoming Electric Vehicles

Electric vehicles will also be part of the upcoming launches, with Volvo preparing to bring its flagship EX90 SUV and ES90 sedan to India. The Volvo EX90 is expected around October 12 and could arrive in the Ultra variant with a 106kWh battery and a dual-motor setup. Its international version produces 456hp and 670Nm, with a claimed driving range of up to 625km. Equipment highlights include a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, a 9-inch driver display, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system and advanced driver assistance systems.

The Volvo ES90 could arrive around the same time. The electric sedan is offered internationally with 92kWh and 106kWh battery options, with power outputs ranging from 333hp to 680hp. Its 800V architecture supports DC fast charging at up to 350kW, while the range-topping version offers a claimed WLTP range of up to 696km. India-specific specifications and prices are yet to be confirmed.

VinFast could also introduce the VF3 in India around October 18 or 19, although an official launch date is still awaited. The compact, two-door electric vehicle is designed for city use and could target customers looking for an affordable EV. It may compete with the MG Comet EV, depending on its final price and specifications. Details about its India-spec battery, range and features remain unknown.

Upcoming Sedans

The sedan segment is expected to receive updates from Mercedes-Maybach, Skoda and Volkswagen. The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class facelift is scheduled to launch on October 5, bringing revised exterior styling and a more technology-focused cabin. Expected changes include an updated grille, new headlamp detailing and star-shaped daytime running lights. Inside, it will feature a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.4-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch passenger display. The international S580 uses a 4.0-litre V8 engine producing 537hp and 750Nm.

The Skoda Slavia facelift is expected to launch on October 6 after its unveiling on August 18. The updated sedan could receive revised styling and additional equipment, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 360-degree camera and rear-seat massage functionality. A key mechanical change could be an 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox for the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. The 1.5-litre TSI is expected to retain its 7-speed DSG transmission.

Volkswagen is also expected to introduce the Virtus facelift this month. The sedan could receive exterior revisions and cabin updates while retaining its turbo-petrol engine range. The 1.0-litre TSI may be paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, while the 1.5-litre TSI is expected to continue with a 7-speed DSG. An updated infotainment system and a 360-degree camera are possible additions, but the final feature list has not been confirmed.

The new-generation Audi Q3 is scheduled to launch in India on October 16. Although it is an SUV, it is another important upcoming premium model for the market. Local production has begun, and the new Q3 is around 40mm longer than the outgoing model. It is expected to use a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 204hp and 320Nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive.
