Citroen eC3 X EV update expected soon. Premium cabin and six airbags likely. Battery and range expected to remain unchanged.
Citroen is preparing to update its affordable electric hatchback for the Indian market, and fresh details about the upcoming eC3 X EV have now surfaced online. The updated model is expected to bring several feature and safety enhancements while retaining its familiar electric powertrain.
The move comes after Citroen refreshed much of its petrol-powered lineup last year. While those models received the new "X" suffix and additional comfort features, the electric eC3 remained unchanged. That is now set to change with the arrival of the updated eC3 X EV.
One of the biggest changes is likely to be inside the cabin.
The updated eC3 X EV is expected to feature a more premium interior with leatherette finishes on the seats and dashboard. These additions could help improve the overall cabin experience and make the electric hatchback feel more upmarket.
Citroen is also likely to introduce adjustable headrests, a feature that has been requested by many customers. The existing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system is expected to continue unchanged, as it already offers a user-friendly experience and remains one of the highlights of the car.

While the overall design is expected to remain familiar, Citroen may make a few visual changes to give the eC3 X EV a fresher look.
Reports suggest the hatchback could receive redesigned LED headlamps and updated daytime running lights. These subtle revisions would help distinguish the updated model from the current version without altering its core design language.
Under the skin, no major mechanical changes are expected.
The eC3 X EV is likely to continue with the same 29.2 kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor producing 56 bhp and 143 Nm of torque. The current setup offers a real-world driving range of around 240-250 km on a full charge.
While the battery specifications may remain unchanged, minor software and efficiency improvements could potentially help improve overall range figures.
Safety is expected to be another key focus area for the updated model.
The eC3 X EV could come equipped with six airbags as standard, a significant improvement over the current setup. A tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is also expected to be added, helping the hatchback better meet modern safety expectations.
These updates would strengthen the eC3 X EV's appeal in a market where buyers are increasingly prioritising safety features.
The current Citroen eC3 is priced from Rs 12.90 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the company could look at introducing a more competitive pricing strategy for the updated version.
With competition in the affordable EV space increasing rapidly, Citroen may aim to improve the value proposition of the eC3 X EV through a combination of new features, improved safety and attractive pricing.
Citroen has not officially announced a launch timeline yet, but the updated eC3 X EV is expected to arrive in the coming months.
