At the launch of the new Curvv EV, Tata Motors debuted an all-new platform named ATLAS which stands for Adaptive Tech-Forward Lifestyle Architecture. This new architecture will underpin the ICE-powered Curvv, coming this September. Moreover, future Tata cars such as Next-gen Nexon and Sierra will be based on the same ATLAS platform. Read more to know about the versatility of this architecture.
According to Tata, the ATLAS platform is capable of supporting multiple body styles including SUVs, sedans, Coupe SUVs, and hatchbacks. This platform will be used for vehicles measuring between 3.9m and 4.6m in length.
In addition, this new architecture can accommodate multiple powertrain options. It also has an updated electric architecture with a cloud platform.
Tata also claims that the new platform will offer the best handling & ride and best-in-class safety. The ATLAS uses a continuous framework, robust mounting points for the suspension components and engine, and rigid bulkhead-based structures. So, if any crash happens, the impact loads are distributed through different paths to ensure symmetric performance.
As mentioned earlier, Tata's new ATLAS platform will be used for upcoming Tata cars including next-gen Nexon, Sierra, and ICE-powered Curvv.
As for the launch, the Tata Curvv ICE has already been showcased. From its exterior design to features, a platform to powertrains, every detail has surfaced online. Only the price announcement is yet to be made, which is scheduled for September 2024.
Tata Sierra EV is expected to be launched by March 2026. Its concept version was showcased earlier in Auto Expo which was based on the Altroz's ALFA platform. However, Tata has confirmed to use of its all-new ATLAS platform for the Sierra ICE.
