New Hyundai EV spotted Up to 500km range expected Launch likely soon

Hyundai is working on a new electric SUV for India, which will sit below the Hyundai Creta Electric in its lineup.

This upcoming model will be made in India for both domestic buyers and global exports, highlighting the brand’s growing EV focus.

Test mules of the new Hyundai EV have already been spotted on roads in India and South Korea.

The SUV is still heavily camouflaged, but early details and renders give a clear idea of what to expect.

Boxy Design with Modern Elements

The upcoming SUV is expected to feature a tall-boy, boxy design with a strong road presence.

It will likely get pixel-style LED DRLs, flush door handles and stylish alloy wheels with a geometric design.

Other design highlights could include roof rails, chunky wheel arches and a bold front look with low-set LED headlamps.

Spacious and Feature-Loaded Cabin

Inside, the SUV is expected to offer a roomy cabin with modern features.

It could get dual 12.3-inch screens, a premium sound system and a new steering wheel with a column-mounted gear selector.

Other expected features include ventilated seats, powered front seats, 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS for added safety.

Battery, Range and Performance

The new Hyundai EV is likely to come with a battery pack of around 40 kWh. It is expected to offer a driving range of around 400 to 500 km on a single charge.

A single electric motor driving the front wheels is likely, with a 0-100 km/h time of under 10 seconds.

Features like regenerative braking, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging could also be included.

Rivals and Positioning

Once launched, the new SUV will compete with popular electric models like the Tata Nexon EV, Tata Punch EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.

It will target buyers looking for an affordable yet feature-packed electric SUV.
