JSW Motors is getting ready to launch its own car brand, separate from its partnership with JSW MG Motor. The company’s first product will be the Chery Jetour T2 i-DM PHEV SUV, which has now been patented in India and is expected to launch in 2026. This move is part of JSW Motors' plan to expand its range and strengthen its position in India’s growing electric and hybrid vehicle market.

The Jetour T2 has a strong, boxy design, similar to the Land Rover Defender. It’s built with a “Rugged Simplicity” design theme, giving it a bold and tough look on the road.
The SUV features rectangular headlights, a black grille with studded elements, and a large, noticeable bumper. It also has squared wheel arches, running boards, and traditional door handles. At the back, you’ll find vertically stacked tail lights, a flat tailgate, and a big bumper. The tailgate also has a spare tire, which is fully enclosed for protection.

The Jetour T2 isn’t just about strength; it’s also packed with premium features. Inside, it has a big 15.6-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, and voice control for easy use.
Other features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 12-speaker premium audio system, wireless charging, Wi-Fi, Type-C USB ports, and even a 220V power supply in the trunk. Plus, the SUV comes with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) power, which allows it to charge other devices on the go.

In India, the Jetour T2 will only come in a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version, called the Jetour T2 i-DM. This version has a 1.5-litre engine that makes 156 PS and 220 Nm of torque. It uses a 3-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), which helps the car switch smoothly between electric, hybrid, and engine modes.
When running on electric power alone, the T2 offers a range of 139 km on a full charge, thanks to its 26.7 kWh battery. With a fast charger, you can charge the battery from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes. A standard charger will take about 4 hours to fully charge the battery. The T2 i-DM will come in both Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) options.
JSW Motors plans to launch the Chery Jetour T2 i-DM in India during the 2026 festive season. The car will be locally assembled at JSW Motors’ new manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. The expected starting price is around Rs 45 lakh, which will make it one of the more affordable PHEV options in India.
