2026 Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Arriving Soon - 8-Speed AT, Panoramic Sunroof

We informed you earlier that Volkswagen will launch the new Taigun and Virtus facelift  in the country by 2026. Ahead of its official launch in Q2, 2026, the new VW Taigun facelift has been spotted testing on the Indian roads. The partially camouflaged test mule reveals the possible design and interior changes. It is expected to receive subtle design and interior changes along with a longer list of features. 


Going by the spy images, it is clear that the VW Taigun facelift is going through final rounds of testing. The SUV will be manufactured at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India’s manufacturing plant in Chakan, which is near Pune. It will come with a revised front fascia, featuring a new sleeker front grille with sharper detailing, and an updated LED headlamps with new LED DRLs.


2026 VW Taigun Facelift Spied


The side profile appears largely identical to the current model, except for the new set of 17-inch alloy wheels. At the back, the midsize SUV gets refreshed LED tail-lights, connecting LED light bar, and a revised lower bumper. 


Inside the cabin, the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift is likely to retain the current dashboard layout. It will get the same 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and touch-based HVAC control. The updated SUV will be equipped with a new 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and a panoramic sunroof, Similar to the Kushaq facelift, the Taigun facelift is likely to get rear massaging seats, automatic AC as standard, ventilated front seats and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat. The updated model won’t get LEVEL 2 ADAS tech.

Engine Options


The 2026 VW Taigun facelift will continue to be offered with a 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.5L, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol. Instead of a 6-speed torque converter automatic, the 1.0L TSI unit will be paired to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. 


The 1.0L engine produces 115PS and 178Nm, while the 1.5L TSI unit churns out 150PS and 250Nm. A six-speed manual gearbox will be offered with a 1.0L unit. There is a 7-speed DSG unit will be offered with a 1.5L turbo unit.
