Kia India unveiled the updated edition of the EV6 at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in Delhi. The car has seen various new design changes along with improvement to its performance. Bookings have opened, and the launch is expected in March 2025.
The car is available for the 2025 edition having a completely fresh large 84kWh battery unit while the previous variants used the one of 77.4kWh. The new generation of the car increases the energy density of the vehicle. It comes in two variants: rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). AWD, with two electric motors, gives 325hp and provides 605Nm of torque. Kia claims the vehicle can travel over 650 km on a full charge. It also brought fast charging into the limelight, and with a boost up to 350kW, the battery pack can now fill from 10% to 80% within 18 minutes.
The dimensions of the EV6 don't change: a length of 4,695mm, the width of 1,890mm, 1,550mm in height, and 2,900mm in its wheelbase. The design had been updated using new triangular DRLs formed from LED which replaced the form of the older DRL's. The front has been restyled, with chromes eliminated as well. For trim GT-Line there are now the 19-inch alloys with machined finish and its side claddings body coloured. Rear end tail-lights and bumper revised as well.
The 2025 EV6 interior features a new two-spoke steering wheel, which includes the updated Kia logo. Fingerprint sensor has also been added to unlock the vehicle without keys; the car is started only by those drivers registered for it. An improved HUD is also offered in the 2025 model. A digital rear-view mirror is also seen on the vehicle along with AI-based navigation support. The dual 12.3-inch screens of the instrument cluster and infotainment are continued. The vehicle has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, and V2L capability.
The new EV6 comes with a comprehensive ADAS suite, which includes forward, rear, and blind-spot avoidance assist and a reversing camera system with parking sensors.
Kia has taken bookings for the updated version of EV6 and will launch the same in March 2025. Delivery should begin within weeks of its launch. It is likely that the EV6 will retain its previous model price band.
