The electric vehicle segment has been growing in the Indian market with new arrivals that have happened and will be happening this year. The automakers such as BYD and Kia are expanding their lineup. The Sealion 7 was introduced as the direct rival to Kia's EV6 model. As the new Kia EV6 has been launched, we bring you a quick comparison between these two based on their prices, performance, technology and others.
The new EV6 has been launched in India at Rs 65.90 lakhs (ex-showroom), which is similar to the prices the pre-facelift model had.
As for the pricing of the Sealion 7, it ranges between Rs 48.90 lakhs and Rs 54.90 lakhs (ex-showroom). This pricing range of the model makes it much more affordable than the EV6.
The 2025 Kia EV6 is offered with a single battery pack option which is larger than the previous model. This 84 kWh battery pack with dual electric motors is claimed to range over 650 km. It is said to deliver up to 323 bhp and 605 Nm of peak torque. This EV can complete a 0.100 kmph run in 5.3 seconds.
On the other hand, the Sealion 7 comes with an 82.56 kWh LFP low-voltage battery pack in both of its variants. For its Premium variant, the car delivers about 315 bhp and 380Nm through its rear wheels as it can have a 0-100kph run in 6.7 seconds with a WLTP-claimed range of 482km. As in the Performance variant the powertrain delivers 532 bhp and 690Nm output with 100kph from rest in 4.5 seconds and a claimed range of 456km.
The interior of the new EV6 features dual 12.3-inch displays and a 12-inch augmented reality-based heads-up display (HUD). It also comes with a sunroof, a wireless phone charger, and a digital key feature.
In the Sealion 7's dashboard layout, there is a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, connected car tech, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, a floating digital instrument cluster, a panoramic glass roof with a sunshade. The features are the same on the Premium and Performance variants.
