Volvo is gearing up to strengthen its lineup in India with two exciting launches scheduled for August 2025 — the facelifted Volvo XC60 and the all-new Volvo EX30 electric SUV. While the XC60 facelift is confirmed for August 1, the EX30 is also expected to debut in the same month.
The popular mid-size luxury SUV, the XC60, is getting a fresh update. The facelift is expected to feature cosmetic upgrades, improved tech features, and enhanced safety equipment. With this update, Volvo aims to keep the XC60 competitive in its segment, which includes rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLC and Audi Q5.
The Volvo EX30 will mark the entry point into the brand’s electric vehicle (EV) lineup in India. It’s already on sale in international markets and has received positive reviews for its compact size, stylish design, and strong performance.
For India, the EX30 is expected to be offered with a 69 kWh NMC battery pack, which supports both rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive setups. The more powerful version can deliver up to 427 bhp and offers a claimed range of 474 km on a single charge.
The EX30 borrows design cues from the larger EX90, featuring:
- Slim LED headlamps
- Signature Thor’s Hammer DRLs
- Pixel-style tail lamps
The overall shape is compact, upright, and urban-friendly. It’s built on Volvo’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform.
Once launched, the Volvo EX30 will take on premium EVs like the BMW iX1, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and the new BYD Sealion 7. Pricing is expected to be under Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom), possibly aided by local assembly.
Inside, the EX30 will feature a minimalist dashboard with recycled materials and a 12.3-inch vertical infotainment display running Google-integrated software. Key features include:
- Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
- 360-degree camera system
- Flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls
- Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
