Kia formally unveiled the entire specification of its new all-electric model, the Kia EV4. There are two body types for the EV4, a sedan and a hatchback. Both versions of the car have great range, with the sedan able to travel as much as 630 kilometers on one charge. That makes the EV4 a viable choice for a driver who must have long-distance capability in an electric vehicle.
The Kia EV4 will comes with two battery pack sizes: a 58.3 kWh and an 81.4 kWh, and varying ranges according to body style. The sedan variant will offer a range of 630 kilometers when it employs the larger 81.4 kWh battery, while the smaller 58.3 kWh battery delivers a range of about 430 kilometers. The hatchback model will offer 590 kilometers of range with the 81.4 kWh battery and 410 kilometers using the lower battery. They have the same electric motor, 201 horsepower, to enable the sedan and hatchback to be able to go from 0 to 100 km/h within approximately 7.4 to 7.7 seconds, 170 kmph top speed, for the sedan and hatchback to feel comfortable on a daily basis.
Kia EV4 comes with two battery packs, and a customer can choose the one that best suits his/her driving style. The vehicle comes with fast charging, with the battery being charged to 80% from 10% in about 31 minutes on a DC fast charger. This enhances convenience of long-distance motor vehicle travel, with customers being able to refuel the vehicle quickly and resume travel.
EV4 is single-phase as well as three-phase rechargeable, i.e., additional ease to the consumers while recharging the vehicle at home or elsewhere.
Kia EV4's emphasis in this model is creating a clean and comfortable area to drive a car. Internally, it possesses a 30-inch wrap-around screen to possess three screens, two 12.3-inch screens to display the instrument cluster and the infotainment system and one 5.3-inch screen to configure the climate control configuration.
The EV4 has been engineered to be both a luxury and a utilitarian car, and the eight-speaker Harman Kardon stereo is available as an option for playing high-fidelity audio. The car also comes with standard entertainment software such as Netflix and YouTube that allows streaming of content on the go for the occupants.
The interior also has functional elements such as a sliding console table, a rotating armrest, and physical buttons to enhance the convenience of operations of the car. The features enhance comfort and facilitate the ease of operation for the EV4 to operate for drivers and passengers.
The Kia EV4 is stylish in design. Its sedan variant is 4,730 mm long, the same as that of the Mercedes C-Class, and its hatchback variant is slightly shorter at 4,430 mm. The vertically positioned headlights and Kia's Star Map LED DRLs, its signature feature, decorate both variants.
The sedan has a fastback-profiled roofline, and the hatchback has rear-mounted spoiler and dynamic rear lighting styling. The GT-Line grade adds sporting cues with triangular-patterned alloy wheels and wing-shaped bumpers.
Safety has been Kia's top priority in the EV4. The vehicle is equipped with an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) that includes a variety of safety features like Driver Attention Warning, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, and Remote Parking Assist.
The EV4 body structure is also extremely safe. The roof is five times more robust than the vehicle itself, adding an extra layer of protection in a rollover crash. Kia desires the EV4 to obtain the best available safety test ratings, such as the Euro NCAP and US NCAP crash tests.
The Kia EV4 will be available for sale in Korea in March 2025 and the European market towards the end of the year. The United States will only have the sedan variant available for sale. The EV4, if it comes to India, would be lower priced than the Kia EV6 facelift both in features and price. However there is no official words from brand wheather it will come to India or not.
