The homegrown UV maker, Mahindra is preparing to launch 5 new models in the country in CY2026. Out of these 5 models, three will be ICE-powered vehicles and rest of them will be battery-electric vehicles (BEVs). Adding to it, the SUV manufacturer will reveal a new platform on the 15th of August, 2025. This platform will be a modular platform, which will be compatible with ICE as well as electric powertrains.
Mahindra has not revealed the exact information of the upcoming ICE-powered vehicles. It is expected that the company will launch a brand new SUV and two mid-life facelifts. It is expected that the homegrown automaker will introduce the updated versions of the Mahindra XUV700 and Thar 3-door. The Scorpio-N could also receive a mid-life facelift next year. For people not in the know, the XUV700 is on sale since 2021 and Scorpio N was introduced in 2022.
The Mahindra XUV700 facelift is expected to receive subtle design changes and upgraded cabin. Its cabin is likely to share features and upgrades in-line with the new Mahindra XEV 9e. The SUV could get a triple screen setup, housing a large touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital driver’s display and a display for co-passenger. The Scorpio-N facelift and Thar 3-door facelift could share features with the new Thar Roxx.
The third SUV could be the next-gen Mahindra Bolero or the next-gen XUV500. If rumours are to be believed, the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 will be a 5-seater SUV and will sit right between the XUV 3XO and the XUV700. It will directly rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and others in the category. The next-gen Bolero is most likely to retain its rugged looks, but Mahindra will add more modern tech and features. The company could also introduce the production version of the Global Pie Up truck, which is based on the Scorpio-N.
Mahindra will introduce the long-awaited XEV 7e (electric XUV700) in the country in CY2026. It will be a more practical 7-seater SUV based on the INGLO architecture and will share battery packs and electric motor with the XEV 9e and BE6. The SUV could also get a dual-motor AWD setup.
The second EV could be the production-ready Mahindra Thar.e or the Bolero EV. We expect the electric Thar to arrive in our market, as its concept was first showcased at the brand’s South Africa event in 2023.
